There are so many fun options when it comes to ceiling detail for your new home! What does that mean? Read on!

Coffer: this is a common option that we see many of our clients select for certain rooms in their new home. This is a relatively cost efficient option that heightens the ceiling, which provides a more spacious feeling for the room. This is also a great way to define a space. Today, we often have great rooms that are open with the kitchen, living, and dining rooms, and adding a coffer ceiling clearly defines a space.

Crown molding and other trim detail: while this is can be a more traditional look, we have many clients incorporating this into their home. There are many trim styles that you can select to go with the other details in your home. We see trim with more texture, as well as more of a flat, modern look. Either way, it can add a little more oomph to the space.

Beams: we love to beam over our handiwork on the ceiling! There are so many fun options for ceiling beams. Some are painted, others are stained or have a wood wrap on them. You can have these go in one direction, in one area of your home, or whatever your heart desires. This adds character to a specific room or throughout all of the places where the beams are found!

Box beam: this is a type of coffer ceiling and has drywall beams that make a tic-tac-toe pattern. This is a fun and clean way to define a space. Some clients even opt to paint the inside of the boxes a different color to add even more definition to the room.

Vaulted ceiling: if you are really looking for some height, a vaulted ceiling is a great option. This creates a very grand feeling for the space.

Two-story ceiling: this is a trend that has come back more recently. We often see this in foyers with great upper level light or in living areas with an upper level balcony. This definitely gives a grand entrance for your guests and makes the living room feel like an extra great space.

Whatever your style, there is a ceiling detail that can spice up your home! Not into any of these? No worries, a normal ceiling is always an option.
