AIA Hard Hat Tour at Latvian Center Garezers
Our team is hard at work constructing a state-of-the-art multi-purpose building at Latvian Center Garezers where we had the privilege of hosting an AIA of Southwest Michigan hard hat tour through the soon-to-be heart of the campgrounds. This dynamic space will serve as a community center, lunchroom, and entertainment area for the campers. Each summer, participants journey from all over the country, and even from Canada, to attend this extraordinary camp. With this new addition, Garezers is set to elevate their experience, providing a new level of enjoyment and lasting memories for years to come.

Behind the Build: Exciting Developments at Consumers Credit Union's The Groves Corporate Headquarters
Consumers Credit Union's headquarters in Kalamazoo has numerous projects underway, including an additional parking structure, a sports center, renovating the vestibule, and installing a Groves Generator.
Despite working through the winter weather, our team successfully poured concrete for The Grove's new parking structure, using temporary heat enclosures and blankets for curing. The second level features a 9-1/2-inch-thick post-tensioned deck, which involves applying tension to cables during curing to enhance the concrete's strength. The masonry is equally impressive, with three different Flemish bond brick patterns and a perforated design on the exterior walls. The project also includes blending four brick colors and incorporating a large radius wall. Upon completion, the structure will add 98 parking spaces.

Additionally, we're building a sports center in the valley of the campus, an area prone to water accumulation. This has required extensive storm work, including 13 new structures and over 1200 linear feet of pipe, all installed with precision to avoid critical utility lines. While this underground work is crucial for preventing water issues, we're also adding rain gardens, retention walls, and trench drains with cobble on top to ensure proper drainage and enhance the landscape's beauty. And the best part? This sports center will feature two new pickleball courts and a cornhole and yard game for for employees to enjoy. How fun!

AVB Summer Party at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe
We took a little break from all of our hard work to celebrate summer at Bell's Eccentric Cafe in downtown Kalamazoo! Our team and their families joined use for live music, caricature portraits, corn hole, great food, drinks, and company!
This get-together wouldn't have been possible without our incredible party planning committee who keep our office community vibrant and fresh. It's always a blast catching up with teammates!
