Celebrating SpringHill Suites with a Ribbon Cutting
This month we celebrated the opening of Springhill Suites in Portage, MI with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Members of the staff and city officials joined the ceremony as we heard from the Mayor of Portage. AVB partnered with the Hinman Company to build the four-story hotel in the popular Trade Centre development. With 93 available suites, a bar, lounge, pool, weight room, and outdoor amenity area, this hotel is a testament to the growth of our community.

Inspiring Hearts and Minds with Bogan Development
Bogan Development partnered with Kalamazoo Youth Development Network to educate and inspire students about working within the construction and development industry. Throughout the entire month of August, Bogan Development and AVB toured students through the progress at 315 E Frank Street, Bogan Development's new daycare and multi-family housing project in the northside neighborhood, downtown Kalamazoo. Professionals from development, architecture, construction management, and more spoke about their work, its rewards and challenges, and how they entered the field. We hope these students were inspired by the progress of the project and the stories that were shared!
Design Corner: Powder Rooms

AVB Takes a Stand for Safety
To Build Something Better every day we take safety seriously! August is MIOSHA's Take a Stand for Safety month focused on the construction industry. Our team took to the active construction site at Tall Timbers in Portage, MI to get on-the-job site safety training from a MIOSHA professional. Our team learned tips for ladder safety, fall protection safety, guard rail safety, and temporary access point safety, just to name a few, all using real examples from our own project!
