AVB COVID-19 Update

We have a team of individuals engaged in different ways, across our families, our communities, our developments and our projects. We hope you have been inspired by the work of our teams whether it be in a medical environment as highlighted below , volunteering in the community, tending to family while working, or just doing the job they are called to do. During these unprecedented times, the work ethic, heart, and focus of our AVB teammates helps to support the health of our community. While at work, our teammates are keeping each other, our clients, and our community safe by following all CDC requirements.

Additionally, AVB is working hard to maintain our employment commitment to all teammates during the Stay Home, Stay Safe order. We want our community to have the confidence to know that AVB is working diligently to ensure our employees' financial stability, so that they can plan with confidence over the coming months. We are incredibly proud of our team and the work they are doing at AVB and in their communities. AVB is positioning itself to be a key part of our healing both now and in the future, because we know when we stick together, we can overcome any obstacle.

Finally, AVB, on behalf of our entire AVB team, recently gave a significant gift to the Ascension Borgess Foundation in support of their COVID-19 fund to assist the front-line caregivers. We are so appreciative of all our friends in the medical and other fields that are supporting our community while keeping us safe and healthy during this challenging time. Also, please scroll down to view our retail tenants recent hours of operation, and please consider supporting our local retailers during this difficult time by clicking on each to learn more. Thank you!

We want to brighten your day with a home tour!

400 Rose: Rise of the Ash

According to arborday.org, the emerald ash borer was first discovered in the Detroit area in 2002. The larvae disrupt the tree's ability to transport water & nutrients by boring into the trees and feeding under their bark, eventually killing the trees. The emerald ash borer has destroyed 40 million ash trees in Michigan alone and tens of millions throughout other states and Canada. Like the phoenix, the ash has risen again within 400 Rose. 400 Rose development partners, Roger Hinman and AVB founder Joe Gesmundo, decided 400 Rose was the perfect location to bring the natural beauty of ash, harvested from Joe’s home, into our urban development. The gorgeous ash conference room tables, accent wood walls in the lobby and halls of 400 Rose warm the building, becoming an essential characteristic of this beautiful development. The story of these ash trees, that lived their full natural life, is now forever a part of the charm of 400 Rose.

Celebrating Our Team!

We want to send a shout out to our courageous teams that are working to help keep our communities safe and healthy with their work at Ascension Borgess Hospital and Lee Memorial Hospital. They are tasked to keep these critical facilities up and running. While some of our AVB work has been delayed, this team is able to continue to Build Something Better! A special requirement for them is to toss their clothing directly into the washer & jump into the shower before any contact with surfaces or family members each evening. These dedicated teammates have been reporting to their critical job sites throughout this Stay Home, Stay Safe period and are doing an amazing job keeping their projects moving forward, their clients happy, and everyone safe during this time. If you have not already, we hope you take a moment today to think about them and send them some love & appreciation!
