The Revival of the Kalamazoo Marathon - now the Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon starting and finishing in Downtown Kalamazoo

AVB, along with many other generous Kalamazoo businesses, returns as a sponsor and is actively involved with reviving this important event in Kalamazoo. AVB is the Pioneer Sponsor of the event in recognition of the only sponsor that has been part of the event since the beginning.
The Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon, formerly known as the Kalamazoo Marathon/Borgess Run for the Health of It, is returning as a three-day event, starting Friday, April 22, 2022. The event–which was last run in 2019 (40th year) went virtual in 2020, and was not held in 2021–will feature a free PNC Kid’s 1k Run at Mayors Riverfront on day one, Driving Health Expo taking place the following day in Downtown Kalamazoo; and finally culminating with the Zeigler Kalamazoo Half Marathon,10k, 5k races, and Priority Health 5k walk starting at the Arcadia Creek Festival Place.
This year’s race will not include a full marathon event due to logistics and time constraints. However, with Zeigler Auto Group as its new sponsor, the event will return in 2023.

· Friday, April 22, 6 pm - PNC Kid's 1k at Mayors Riverfront Park
· Saturday, April 23, 11 am to 4 pm - Race Packet Pickup & Main Sponsor Race Expo in Downtown Kalamazoo
· Sunday, April 24 - Zeigler Kalamazoo Half Marathon starts at 7:30 am at Arcadia Creek Festival Place. Event day will also feature 10k, 5k runs & Priority Health 5k walk
The Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon will be a celebration for our running and walking community as we come together after years without the event. The entire weekend will be very inclusive, welcoming everyone, and is a pillar of a healthy community.
