A New Home in the Winter?
A New Home in the Winter?
January 29, 2021

In the past, we’ve been told that moving in the winter is not a good idea. However, the way the world is today, that theory is no longer relevant. Keep reading for a few reasons why looking at new homes and moving now is actually a great idea!

Less competition: if you’re looking to sell your current home to move, because of the low inventory, chances are that it will sell very quickly. This is great for you as you don’t have to have stress about your home going pending!

Less stress: despite the low inventory with resale homes, with new construction, there are many more options. This means that it is unlikely that you’ll enter a bidding war - phew! We build homes for sale or our clients work with us to build a custom home to meet their needs. If you are building custom, you can make sure you take your time deciding on what you’d like in your new home rather than having to make an offer after one virtual home tour (which often happens in the resale market).

Low interest rates: interest rates are still low and are a great incentive to get your financing locked in. As many of us know, these change frequently, so getting on board now can save you money in the future.

If you’re wondering, yes, we do build all year long! Our experienced team and subcontractors have the appropriate tools to make sure that we can get your home built no matter the season. That being said, if we have extreme weather for any period of time, that may set us back a bit until we are able to get a certain step done on your home. For example, if we are pouring your foundation walls, it’s best if it’s not negative 12 degrees outside. This will allow the foundation to cure properly so that no issues arise down the road.

So, while you’re cozied up at home, maybe now is the best time to start looking for your new home! We encourage you to take a look at our available homes or contact us about building your custom home.
