AVB was selected as a preferred developer for Walgreens in 2004. Since this time AVB has successfully completed the development and construction of seven Walgreens stores in southwest Michigan and northwest Indiana. Walgreens is known for their re-development focus on first-rate corner properties which have come with a variety of development challenges. By working creatively, fairly and proactively with property owners, state and local officials, AVB has overcome these challenges to complete these projects. AVB’s newest Walgreens redevelopment site is at the corner of Stadium and Main in downtown Kalamazoo and marks our most urban Walgreens project to date. It features a more contemporary elevation with metal panel and glass architectural details and a pedestrian focus as the store site only 15’ from Stadium Drive and includes a 10’ trailway that has been dedicated to the City of Kalamazoo as part of the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail trail system.
