400 Rose is a dynamic, four-story, multi-use development that brought 135 new residential units and new ground-floor retail space to Downtown Kalamazoo. Additionally, this development made extensive enhancements to the surrounding streetscape, including the addition of a bike lane, new on-street parking spaces, and a snowmelt system installed under public sidewalks to enhance walkability.
400 Rose Apartments has achieved LEED Gold certification. One of the most visible aspects of 400 Rose’s sustainable design is the native plants and green-vegetative roofs on the private garages and rooftop lounge. LEED Gold Certification is proof that 400 Rose went above and beyond to ensure its space was constructed to and is operated at, the highest level of sustainability.
