AVB is proud to serve as the Construction Manager for the transformative River’s Edge project, developed by Standard Caddis Development. This new community will feature two four-story apartment buildings comprising 228 thoughtfully designed units. Of these, 184 units will be designated as affordable housing for individuals earning at or below 60% of the area median income (AMI). The remaining 44 units will provide options for those earning at or below 130% of the AMI.
River’s Edge will offer amenities that foster community and well-being, including a clubhouse with a gym and fireplace. Located at 508 Harrison Street and 660 Gull Road in Kalamazoo, MI, the development will also feature four live-work units and retail spaces to create a vibrant, connected neighborhood.
This project reflects a collaborative effort spanning over seven years. Despite challenges, the project has received vital support, including $2.6 million in environmental grants from the Michigan Department of Energy, Great Lakes, and Environment (EGLE).
Scheduled for completion by May 2026, River’s Edge aims to address the housing crisis in Kalamazoo by offering high-quality, affordable homes while creating lasting connections within the community.
