When Kalamazoo Christian Middle School’s existing facility needed to expand, their property on Westnedge Avenue was not large enough to house the addition; they decided to consolidate on to their elementary school campus on 12th Street. The challenging addition began in difficult winter conditions to build the 32,000 square foot additions to the existing elementary school.

Safety was top priority for operating on an occupied campus and was ensured throughout the entirety of the project. The project was also an interactive one as the school progressed. On May 14th AVB gave students a tour and utilized the construction as an educational part of the children’s curriculum.

The middle school addition opened August; finishing before classes began for the school year later that month.
