AVB was excited to be chosen as the construction management partner on Harrison Circle Apartments; the new multi-use development in downtown Kalamazoo!
Harrison Circle is a five-story all-precast concrete apartment complex. The first level consists of a parking garage along with two commercial retail suites, Brewery Outré and Walnut & Park café. The upper four levels are 80 apartment units.
The precast concrete figures prominently in the design with demising walls, exterior walls, and ceilings all left raw concrete. The unit floors are black concrete topped over the precast. The industrial feel is rounded out with all exposed HVAC, electrical, and piping exposed.
Building efficiency was a major part of the design for this project with high-efficiency VRV and ERV systems serving the units and common areas along with a roof-top solar array providing a significant portion of the energy consumption.
