AVB was selected to build the 4,800 SF renovation of the Ascension Borgess Easy Street Rehabilitation Center. This renovation provided Ascension Borgess with a refreshed, open-concept PT gym. The renovation features new flooring, ceiling, expanded space, and a terrain with slight elevations to provide patients with an uneven ground to practice on during rehabilitation. Seamless communication and logistical problem-solving from AVB were required during this project to ensure that the removal of equipment was possible due to narrow doorways. Special care was also necessary as many items needed abatement due to asbestos. We are proud of our team for rising to the challenge to complete this addition and believe this new rehabilitation center renovation is a vital upgrade to our community.
AVB’s relationship with Ascension Borgess Health has included projects valued at over $150 million on the main Kalamazoo campus. These projects have taken place on occupied campuses often with active medical treatments on the other side of the wall, above, and below.
